Professional networking in a virtual world
April 1, 2021 @ 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM WAT

Up until a not-so-distant past, ‘soft skills’ such as networking, were acquired, honed and valued over time. The advent of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020 has changed much of this perception however and, today, networking has been totally redefined: it is no longer simply about finding the best designs for your business cards, drafting memorable elevator pitches, attending functions to meet people or emailing/calling important people for a chance to be heard. Being heard, being visible, expanding one’s network in a world that has gone almost fully digital takes different skills.
As someone who has never been employed full-time, Armand E.G. Goutondji knows not to just wait for opportunities; he believes in creating them, and the internet has made this a whole lot easier. This talk therefore aims to empower students, graduates, independent workers and future employees by sharing with them tips on how to make the most of digital platforms to enhance their networking.
If you’re looking for ways to boost your professional networking this year, this is the opportunity not to miss!
Note: This presentation is made as part of the Golden Key (Southern Africa) Virtual Summit 2021 and is organised independently by GKSA.
